In Kingdom Hearts 1 it served as a fantastic endgame world a nice variety in it's locations. Hollow Bastion in it's various iterations remains my favorite world in the series. Another neat thing is when you fight Pete, he'll occasionally change the area with a curtain transition. Probably my favourite touch about the world is the fact that the voices and music are kind of muffled giving that old movie vibe. After each area is saved, 1928 Mickey shows up to shake hands with Sora. And the last area being inspired by the 1931 short "Mickey's Orphans" which takes you Mickey's house being terrorized by a weird black hole trying to suck all of his furniture. The next being inspired by the 1930 short "The Fire Fighters" and the 1935 short "Mickey's Fire Brigade", which takes the gang to the scene of a building on fire, where you have to fight off the flames and cartoon cars that zip and zoom crashing into you. Another taking you to an area inspired by the 1934 short "Gulliver Mickey", which has the gang fight as giants in a small town while being attacked by cartoon pilots in planes. But you're also able to visit four other enivronments, one based off the 1933 short "The Building Site" taking you to a construction site where you fight Heartless inspired by cartoon Hammers. The main hub is based off Steamboat Willie with appearances from Clarabelle Cow and Horace Horsecollar. An adaptation of the 1928 short "Steamboat Willie", the short that had Mickey Mouse's first real world public appearance, the world takes Sora, Donald, and Goofy to a black and white old timey-y cartoon inspired environment to deal with modern day Pete messing around with the past. Mine has to be "Timeless River" from Kingdom Hearts II.
