You replace wood bed and a buyer wants different wood. Example, you paint the engine and a buyer may want to pull and blueprint it. I've seen it too many times, someone have a nice solid original vehicle and start doing things to it that actually devalued the vehicle. A good possibility anything you do to the truck would not be what a buyer would want. Anyone paying a good dollar for a truck like that has their own ideas as to what they want to do to it or not do to it. More thoughts if you have them.If that truck is original as you say, never messed with, leave it alone. I don't want it to look like it's Ronald McDonald's truck when you pop the hood either. I thought of painting it a more conservative color. I was thinking the original orange and yellow original colors are terrible. And my thought is to clean and paint the motor and tranny. So I think I'll just change the head gaskets on the 272 and use it. Another color might be good to complement the patina-ed paint. Good idea about the seat! Can you get the original 56 seat upholstery or are you getting something close? New original cardboard door panels would be good.ĭid you say repaint the wheels or new wheels? The steel wheels look good as they are. Put new bed wood in and maybe use cheap yellow pine and paint it black as a pretty shiny oak bed would look out of place. Cool truck! I agree with the others keep the Y-block and the Fordomatic. New wood bed and wheels repaint and new rubber, headliner, door panels etc. All glass will be replaced with new seals. Any ideas? Seat is already being done similar to the original one in the pictures. At the end, I want to have it be a cool cruiser and something someone will want to take over as I plan to sell this in a couple weeks. Although the motor runs, I am not sure it's worth rebuilding the motor and transmission. The motor has water in the oil and the transmission would need to be rebuilt. It has a great patina that I will leave as is. It has the original 272 Y motor with Fordomatic transmission. It's is an all original truck that has not seen any rust. New wood bed and wheels repaint and new rubber, headliner, door panels on on on on on Flickr You can see how I made these here.So I bought this truck here in Arizona. The last thing I added to my Pandemic Easter table was this bunny tail chair tie. The other end of the table hosts a bunny and his carrot.īoth of these sets add a fun element to my table. This year I chose to go with the easy reach.Īt one end of the table I have the sweetest little bunny riding in his truck. I like to put pretty salt and pepper shakers either at each place setting or with in easy reach of each one. Of course, I can’t forget what I call the “extras”. The final piece to my place setting is this beautiful blue glass egg cup filled with chocolate eggs. The chinoiserie pink and white napkins are a perfect match for the pink and white charger plates. The sweet rabbit plate adds just a little bit of fun.Įach place setting has a different color rabbit plate in either blue, yellow, pink or purple.įor a bit of whimsy, I added these white wooden bunny napkin rings. I love how a white plate makes all of the colorful items stand out. To match my bright and cheerful table runner, I’m using turquoise stemmed glassware.Ī white plate, followed by colorful rabbit appetizer plate is added to my place setting. Since my charger has a gold rim, I used my silverware with a gold bead inlay. If you missed how I made those, you can see it here. This year since it will be a more simple celebration, I felt like a simple decor was appropriate.Ī fun bright turquoise buffalo plaid table runner is topped with this sweet little rabbit centerpiece.Įach place setting has a blue placemat, followed by a pink buffalo plaid charger. Even though it will just be the 4 of us, I am still planning on celebrating as best as we can! As always I start with a clean table. Like last year, we will not be having a huge Easter get together. With Easter just around the corner I’ve been planning my table. Boy are those words that I thought that I would never say together! I can’t believe that we have been self distancing for over 1 year now.
